MoE Fitness Month 2009

Every single teacher in Malaysia knows about this month :)

Based on the Official Circulation (a.k.a Surat Pekeliling) released by MoE (Ministry of Education) some years back, July was made as Fitness Month. Thus, there is a number of programs being run by the Ministry in order to ensure our future leaders are fit enough to spearhead the country to glory in years to come.

I would like to highlight some things pertaining to this program:
  1. This is the month where students who can really (or not really) excel in sports shows their talents, apart of MSSM and all sports and extra curricullar programs.
  2. One of the objectives is to instill the sporting culture to the students as well as to the teachers.
  3. There is a number of programs being run, be it at school level, district level, state level or national level.
  4. Aerobic exercise is being made compulsory, where it has to be conducted each and every week after schooling hours.
  5. Some people can really enjoy this month.
  6. At the same time, some people found it as time wasting (oww....C'mon!!!)
As the person incharge of sports thingy in school, I was obligated to run this program at school level. I have planned some competitions and (could be impossible) an exhibition.

I've done 2 competitions so far; netball games for female students and "sprint test" for male students. I had so much fun doing those 2 competitions, both AT ONCE. I repeat, both AT ONCE. Imagine how busy I was juggling between those two competitions.

In next post, I will try to upload some pictures of the competitions. I wasn't able to hold the camera, even for a second because I had to hold a lot of score sheets in my hands. Mdm. Norida and Mdm. Fatimah (my teaching mates) took all the pictures. Credits to both of them for their supports and co-operations. Hopefully they will always be put under PE Panel, because I had a lot of fun working with them :)
