I was stuck with a Tamil movie just now, titled "Unnale Unnale" (you may see the details of this movie here), which has captured my attention and views regarding a relationship as a couple. I actually can go for any movie, be it in any foreign language, as long as the storyline could please me.
I actually have no experience in coupling thingy, because I have no girlfriend -- no one nor once. Hence, I have no right to say anything to every breaking couple out there what should they do to reconcile themselves. But I do have a thing or two to share as a view for future references.
For me, there's no such "owning" thing, because we have no right to own anything, for the fact that everything belongs to the God the Almighty who has control over everything in this world. We are granted to have a thing or two just for a matter of time and for some reasons mostly we didn't understand or even realise.
I have come across a lot of couples out there that are having the same problem as the couple in the movie. One part of the couple, be it the guy or the girl, wants the other part of the couple to stay loyal and follow all of his/her wishes, which I think is the uttermost problem in every relationship. When this thing happen, the other part will definitely feel very uncomfortable, which would result into a fierce war-of-words.
I call this act (of wanting their partner to follow suit) as bossy - somewhat, though not fully bossy, but it still is -- or 'control freak' -- that is the correct terminology. I was thinking deeply, why would we want everyone to follow everything we say? Will we follow everything people say to us? We absolutely won't. You may try this with your own partner, while I'll try this to my own schoolkids and workingmates. We will get the result exactly just like I told you.
For me the turning point of a relationship is just accepting your partner just the way our partner is, and the same should be done by the our partner - accepting us just the way we are. The God created His creatures in pairs, in which male come female, and right come wrong. Postive come negative. There is no way these creatures will be the same, but it is up to us to align and reconcile each other.
From differences comes understanding. From differences also, comes happy ending. But don't you ever forget, from difference also, comes bitter memories.
Treasure your partner while you can before they go slipping through your fingers.
